Miss Illinois 1998 Amanda Meadows (Miss Macomb) became the first baton twirler to ever win the Miss Illinois title.  Here she performs in Atlantic City to "Uno Dos Tres, Maria."  She was awarded a special Non-Finalist Talent Award.  Amanda spent her year of service mentoring Illinois' school children.  She is now a resident of Florida where she is a pharmaceutical sales representative.  She was married in May 2002.  CLICK HERE to see wedding pics!

Miss Illinois 1997 Kate Shindle, who would later become Miss America,
and Miss America 1991, Marjorie Vincent.  They are three of the four women who have ever won the Miss America title as Miss Illinois.
But the stage is just a small part of what MAKES the Miss Illinois Program.  Here, former Miss Illinois and Miss America 1991 Marjorie Vincent of Oak Park is presented with a special proclamation from the Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley proclaming it "Marjorie Vincent Day" in Chicago during her homecoming in October 1990.
Miss Illinois 1992 (Miss Kankakee County)  Kathleen Farrell, a talent pianist, plays Danza No. #5" by Alberto Ginastera.  She won a Non-Finalist Talent Award in Atlantic City.  She spent her year of service dedicated to the "Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness."  Kathleen and her husband are expecting their first child in late 2002.   
Miss Illinois 1994 (Miss Schaumburg) Sara Martin won a Non-Finalist Talent Award in Atlantic City with her rendition of "Hello, Young Lovers" from "The King and I".  She and her husband Peter are the proud parents of a baby boy born last year.

Miss Illinois 1999 (Miss Chicago) Jade Smalls, ponders her question posed by former Miss America Shawntel Smith.  Jade became first runner-up to Miss America 2000 and was married last year.  She and her husband reside in Texas where she is pursuing her Master's degree.   Jade increased awareness of suicide prevention all across America, and even testified in front of the U.S. Congress.
