Miss Illinois 2000 Jennifer Powers (Miss Northern Illinois) in the Miss America Evening Wear competition.  Each year Miss Illinois is fitted with her own original gown for competition.
Jenny Powers was named a Preliminary Talent Winner at Miss America with her powerful rendition of "Quando Me n'vo" from Puccini's opera "La Boheme."  Her passion of "Arts in Education" brought her into classrooms across Illinois during her year of service.  She is a student at Northwestern University.
